This ten minute feature was Ray's first project after the completion of MIGHTY JOE YOUNG.  It was made during his experimentation with his planned dinosaur feature EVOLUTION. Though not listed in the credits, Charlotte Knight wrote the narrative for this 10 minute featurette.  She was living in New York at the time and was a actress/director/writer and good friend of Ray's.  The entire story was developed by mail.  His father helped him the armatures and props and once again his mother created the costumes for the figures which Ray designed and constructed.  Typical of Ray focusing on a target audience, the nastier bits of the original story are eliminated.  The Wolf does not swallow the Grandmother whole and the hunter does not gut the wolf to free the grandma.  Like all of the films in the series, this is a charming adaptation of a classic children's story.
