8mm and Super 8mm Films
From the late 1950's to the late 1970's condensed versions of classic films found their way to many homes by way of 8mm and Super 8mm films. While these titles ran anywhere from 7 to 20 minutes, they featured highlights from theatrical films that could be projected in any home. Several of the Harryhausen titles made their way into this market and most of them packed as much of the Harryhausen stop motion work in them as possible. These items are highly collectable and many can be found on EBAY auctions. All of the Harryhausen films are available uncut on 16mm and they all bring premium prices. While the films are legal to own, copyright laws do not permit public screenings of the films.

EARTH VS. THE FLYING SAUCERS This was also available in both 50 ft and 200 ft. versions. The 200' version is packed with saucer effects and manages to nicely condense the film to 13 minutes. I've never seen sound prints of this title either. |

Other 8mm titles were released and as I get scans of the covers I'll post them here.
